It is on my record as a result of it is one of the first films to point out the power of cinema and what it could achieve. Everyone talks about its use of montage, and is fantastically carried out.
Alison Brie of GLOW and Community co-wrote and stars in this compelling and haunting exploration of mental sickness. The eponymous “horse lady” is Sarah, a socially awkward and lonely lady who’s more comfortable around horses than people, and whose life starts coming apart on the seams, as she’s affected by surreal nightmares that appear to bleed into her waking life. Though the movie’s divisive third act arguably undoes a lot of its power, it’s an unsettling delve into psychosis.
