Yiddish books present a uncommon window to the wealthy and varied culture that in many ways was lost during WWII. Yet, as the era of native Yiddish audio system passed away, these books were usually discarded. So, in 1998, RPF became the lead funder of the Yiddish Book Center’s formidable effort to preserve all of Yiddish Literature. The outcome was the Steven Spielberg Digital Yiddish Library, which includes digitized copies of all of the books in the heart’s collection (over one million books, with over eleven,000 distinct titles)—all of that are accessible online.
